Chess Club instructor Jay will be teaching both the general and advanced Carmel Chess Club groups in 2021. In Week 6, members completed a timed chess quiz hoping to gain a place in the advanced group. Players’ achievements in 2020 chess championship and games will also be taken into account. Ìý

Meanwhile, lunchtime Chess Club has begun again with over 30 students attending every Thursday to improve their skills and engage in some robust competition! Our committed Year 6 leaders, Daniel and Raphael, set up the boards for the club at recess to make sure there is no time wasted.
WeÌýsend our grateful thanks to the Maccabi Chess Club for their generous donation of five chess boards. The boards were received by the students in Prep and will be well used in the Chess Club. We greatly appreciate Maccabi's support in growing the enthusiasm and skillset of our students.
